Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Reinhard Heinisch (PhD) is the Professor of Comparative Austrian Politics at the Department of Political Science and Sociology at the University of Salzburg, which he has chaired since 2009. He was also a faculty member at the University of Pittsburg from 1994 – 2009. In his teaching in the U.S. and Europe, Prof. Heinisch has focused on Comparative and European Politics. Since 2014, he has been teaching regularly in Beijing at Renmin University of China. Media such as The BBC, NPR, The Washington Post, Der Spiegel, ARD, CNN, Open Democracy, Huffington.Post, and Austrian TV and newspapers have aired/published his commentaries, opinion pieces, and analyses.

In this evening’s talk, “China’s Cards”, Prof. Heinisch will spoke in German about relations between the U.S. and China and their possible influence on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
